- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Rock Island District, has a requirement to replace the Remote Operating Vehicle (ROV) that was destroyed during an operation expedition at Coralville Lake Reservoir. While the ROV was destroyed during the mission; the supporting components to include but not limited to the controller was recover. The additional components are what allows the ROV to maneuver, and they also provide the software which records any findings during the underwater inspections, surveys, and findings around the Locks and Dam, Reservoirs and Hydro Plants. This ROV and components are a vital part of the dive equipment required to provide information to the dive team and to support the need to limit the use of divers as a work method if the work objective can be accomplished by other means.
