- This is a notice of the governments intent to solicit orally for the repair of one Detroit Diesel engine. This requirement will only be solicited to authorized Detroit Diesel vendors.The following services will need to be conducted: Drain fluids and remove all external engine components. Remove cylinder heads and oil pan. Remove and replaced cylinder kits, rod bearings and main bearings. Replace oil pressure regulator and relief valves. Install oil pan. Install rebuilt cylinder heads and injectors. Assemble engine and tune engine. Replace thermostats and fill engine with fluids. Start and check operation.
