Description
Acquisition Authority: This acquisition is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures, and the resultant contract award will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2019-01, effective date 01-22-2019. North American Classification System (NAICS) Code: 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing Small business size standard: 1,000 employees Classification Code: 6640, Laboratory Equipment and Supplies Set-aside Status: No set-aside restriction is applicable Competition Status: This requirement will be posted as competitive Description of Requirement: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the nation's leading medical research agency and the primary Federal agency whose mission is to seek fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability, conducting, supporting and making medical discoveries that improve people's health and save lives. The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) is a translational science center that prides itself on its tremendously productive pipeline and is innovative in several ways. NCATS brings together a diverse range of scientists, including medicinal chemists, biologists, toxicologists, and engineers, in to ultimately translate basic science into real products and services that help improve people's lives. NCATS seeks to purchase one (1) CyBio® Well vario Liquid Handling System with accessories, brand name or equal. The CyBio® Well vario is an automated, simultaneous pipetting platform which accepts a series of different interchangeable pipetting heads to provide high flexibility and upgradeability. The interchangeable heads can be changed from the front or back of the pipettor base unit with no configuration steps needed. The CyBio® Well vario adapts into any screening environment and can be equipped with a variety of accessories. The required accessories include a 10-position circular transport system, pipetting Head for 1536-well simultaneous liquid handling, fixed tip magazine 1536/1 μl, fixed tip magazine 384/1 μl, complete tip wash station, reservoir with lid option and liquid circulation, adapter and accessories for MALDI application, lid station, and pre-configured PC. See attachment for additional details on the required items and accessories. The requirement includes delivery, installation, and setup of MALDI methods. Brand name or equal liquid handling systems and accessories must have the following salient characteristics: • Must be compatible with the Bruker MALDI Next Generation Mass Spectrometry based Plate Reader • Must allow for 3,4,5 or 10 Shallow well and deep well microplate positions and formats in 96, 384 or 1536 • Must be 15-35ºC • Volume range must be 100nl to 250ul • Must have automated base which accepts different simultaneous pipetting heads One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement and Free Trade Agreements. Delivery: Delivery and installation is to occur within 8-12 weeks after receipt of order. The exact date and time of installation shall be coordinated with the NCATS Point of Contact listed on the purchase order. Acquisition Procedures: This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals or quotations. It is anticipated that a written solicitation will be issued on or about March 27, 2019 and will be posted on FedBizOpps. The anticipated award date is April 30, 2019.
