- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is issuing this sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support this requirement to evaluate current Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) program recruiting and selection practices, conduct a job analysis of an EIS officer, develop characteristics of star EIS officers, conduct a validation study for selection procedures, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement. The work will involve the engagement of multiple stakeholders of the EIS program including current division staff and leadership, current fellows, alumni, and other agency staff. EIS is a 2-year service-learning fellowship in applied epidemiology. EIS is CDC's flagship training program which provides critical training for future public health leaders in epidemiology. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement.
