- The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) has a follow-on requirement in support of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) for Animal study assistance on anti-parasitic drugs Support Services. The purpose of this requirement is to provide support services for research support to assist investigators with drug development through the performance of animal studies for new antimalarial and anti-leishmanial drug candidates. This includes studies in pharmacokinetics, toxicity, and efficacy using HPLC, FCM, and IVIS methods. The work includes animal handling, dosing, sampling, clinical observation and experimental infection of the animals with malaria, mosquito dissection, collecting data, performing daily laboratory tasks, and developing reports and publications.
