STATEMENT OF WORK/DESCRIPTION OF WORK SCOPE OF WORK AND GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS For: Olympus FK Retractor Background: The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) is currently using Olympus FK Retractor for TORS Laryngo-pharyngoscope procedures. This retractor offers unique exposition of the upper aerodigestive tract especially during TORS (Trans-Oral Robotic Surgery), microsurgery or laser surgery of the base of tongue, larynx and hypopharynx. In comparison with the standard laryngoscopes, the nontubular concept of this device allows better view into the operation area, an improved access to it and easier manipulation of instruments. The Urologists in OR/Cysto are requesting more sets to support their caseloads because right now surgeries are being delayed and with raising the par level for the Olympus FK retractor, it will ensure fewer delays in cases for procedures to better serve our Veterans. This purchase will enhance our ability to perform surgeries as needed in the Operating Room.
