- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a firm fixed-price type contract action with Mnemonics, Inc. (CAGE 6R026) of Melbourne, FL 32934 for ECP 6464C2. This contract action will be for procurement of approximately 417 Radio Frequency Blanking Units (RFBU) to replace Enhanced Interference Blanking Units (EIBU) in FA/18 E and F Block II aircraft. The manufacturing is to be performed at Mnemonics production facility in Melbourne, FL. The procurement will be procured under NAICS 336413 (Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing), and is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304 (C)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." The Government does not currently possess the necessary technical data to produce the RFBU using a source other than Mnemonics. Therefore, NAVAIR has determined that award of the RFBU effort to any source other than Mnemonics would result in unacceptable delays to fielding this requirement. This synopsis is for information purposes only and is not a request for competitive proposals. Responsible sources may submit a capability statement with sufficient detail that clearly demonstrates the capability to produce the required products no later than 3:00 PM (EST) to Cynthia.long@navy.mil
