Page 1 of 1 Veterans Health Affairs, Network Contracting Office 5, is issuing this Notice of Intent to Sole Source in order to identify any potential sources that have the resources, rights, and capabilities to provide the Online Training Workshop on Managing Challenging Veteran Behaviors for the Veterans Affairs Central Office (VACO). SERVICES REQUIRED In accordance with the Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act of 2010, (Pub. L. No. 111-163), VA is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive National Caregiver Training Program for caregivers that are caring for eligible Veterans. As part of this training initiative, VA has developed an evidence-based online workshop for Caregivers of Veterans known as the Building Better Caregivers system. This online workshop allows Caregivers to share their experiences, increase their skills in problem solving and develop skills and confidence in managing difficult behaviors, with a goal of increasing Caregiver self-care, while guided by a curriculum developed by VA through this contract. In order to accommodate Caregiver schedules, the online workshop should be conducted via a feedback forum, or other format that allows Caregivers the ability to login at any hour to view and submit their input. The workshop must be monitored regularly, as defined by the contract, in order to track Caregiver progress and attend to issues as they develop. The workshop shall have trained staff that provides input and feedback to Caregivers who participate in the workshops. This Online Training Workshop on Managing Challenging Veteran Behaviors for caregivers of Veterans is a logical continuation of the contract for the highly specialized Building Better Caregivers model developed by a grant in the amount of $2,956,000 to Stanford University s Center for Patient Education Research and presented by the National Council on Aging (NCOA). Stanford gave the exclusive license of the suite of evidence based self-management programs (which includes Building Better Caregivers) over to ABK Ventures dba Canary Health. INTERESTED & CAPABLE RESPONSES: NCO 5 is seeking responses from businesses that are interested in this procurement and consider themselves to have the resources, rights, and capabilities necessary to provide these services.
