Description
ERDC Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 1903/FAR 13.501(a)/Sole Source (including brand name) acquisitions to PostProcess Technologies, Inc located in Buffalo, NY, PostProcess Technologies, Inc. being the only known source that offers Support Removal Systems to support 3-D printing capabilities and research needs. The Government requires the removal system for the cleaning and removal of support materials from finished models and prototypes produced by 3-D printers. The Base Support Removal System and the Demi Support Removal System by PostProcess Technologies, Inc. has been identified as the only products that can meet the Government's requirement. The Government requires a support removal system that has proven technologies to provide a hands- free spray system to clean and remove materials from the 3-D printed parts and have a large envelope build to support large additive 3-D models. The system must also be able to meet the volume production while also being consistent in clean all aspects of the printed models without causing damage. Postprocess Technologies is the only known source to have this capability in the industry. This requirement will support ERDC laboratories with faster process times and consistent cleaning processes for R&D models and prototypes. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 10:30 A.M. CT on 28 Sep 2018. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Please submit information for consideration by the Government to Robert.J.Jones@usace.army.mil with the solicitation number referenced in the subject line.
