Description

Taclane Justification The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), Enterprise Services-Acquisition (ES-A), intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order on the basis of other than full and open competition pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements" to General Dynamics Mission Systems. The requirement is for 19 TACLANE-FLEX Encryptors, P/N KG-175F. No solicitation will be made available. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the government not to compete based upon responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the government. Acquisition of Commercial Items under FAR Part 12 and Simplified Acquisitions Procedures under FAR Part 13 apply. The applicable NAICS Code is 334220 and the business size standard is 1,250 employees. The proposed contract action is for products in which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest in this requirement to ewoodard@doc.gov. Questions by phone or fax will not be considered. The anticipated contract will be awarded to General Dynamics Missions Systems. This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations.
