- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), SAO West, Network Contracting Office 21, intends to enter into a sole source procurement for Carefusion Pyxis anesthesia equipment, automated medication dispensing equipment, software, support services, and analytics services for the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS), 6990 North Pecos Road, North Las Vegas, Nevada, 89086. In accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) Soliciting from A Single Source, the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis with Carefusion Solutions, LLC, 3750 Torrey View Ct, San Diego, CA 92130 for furnishing the Pyxis anesthesia equipment, automated medication dispensing equipment, software, support services, and analytics services, installation, and implementation. The contractor shall deliver and install equipment at the VASNHS located at 6900 North Pecos Road, North Las Vegas, Nevada 89086 within ninety (90) days after contract award. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 339113 and the Business Size Standard is 750 employees. The sole source rationale is based on the proprietary nature of the equipment and software and their unique compatibilities with existing hardware and software currently in use. Carefusion is the only contractor that is currently able to integrate with the VA s systems. Also, Carefusion is the only vendor capable of providing the supplies and services without the VA experiencing substantial duplication of costs that could not be expected to be recovered through competition. This notice of intent is not a solicitation or request for competitive quotes. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the U.S. Government. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the Agency. Any capability statement, proposal, or quote provided shall be at no cost or obligation to the Government. Responses must be received no later than 11:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Monday, September 10, 2018. All responses shall be submitted to Susanne Christen via email at Susanne.Christen@va.gov.
