- Below are the revised answers to 2 questions posted on 16 July 2018. Q1. Regarding the steel parts (CLINs 001-009, 011-019, 021-029, and 031-039), is there a particular alloy requested? A1. For the Bolts and Nuts: Grade 8. For the Studs: Grade B16. An amendment to the Solicitation will be issued to incorporate this requirement. Q4. I have reviewed the documents and amendment related to this solicitation. While the amendment clarified the finish on the items noted, i.e., zinc plated, I don't see any reference to the grade of steel to be used in these items. Commercial industry standards are grade 2, grade 5 and grade 8, with each progressively stronger. There are other materials available in addition to these three. Could you please clarify what material is to be used in the fabrication of these items? A4. For the Bolts and Nuts: Grade 8 is required. For the Studs: Grade B16. This impacts CLINs 001-009, 011-019, 021-029, and 031-039. An amendment to the Solicitation will be issued to incorporate this requirement.
