- Sources Sought Questionnaire The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Keyport is hereby issuing this sources sought announcement as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having the resources and interest to support a requirement for a Passive Sonar Target suitable for long-term marine usage meeting the following specification: Acoustic target strength of greater than +7dB across the frequency band 2kHz - 5kHz. "Passive" indicates that the sonar target must be a physical reflector of incident acoustic energy (as distinct from a target which actively generates acoustic waves via transduction of electrical power). Include in your response the following: 1) Confirm that your target meets the above specification, or clearly describe how it does not. 2) Address the beam patterns of your target. Is it omnidirectional? If not, how does its response vary with angle? 3) Describe how flat the frequency response of the target is across the frequency band of interest. 4) Include any other relevant information, such as target material, physical dimensions, weight, maximum operating depth, etc. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this announcement is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred.
