- J&A Elite 9000 specs This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC) intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order to PROAIM Americas, LLC. d/b/a: PROAIM Medical P.O. Box 724 Grover, MO. 63040 for the acquisition of a ZEISS PLEX Elite 9000 OCT to research and patient care based on NEI protocols System (unique slide scanner) with special features. The National Institutes of Health are requesting to purchase this specialized system which is required Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an imaging technique that uses coherent light to capture micrometer-resolution, two- and three-dimensional images from within optical scattering media (e.g., biological tissue). It is used for medical imaging and industrial nondestructive testing (NDT). Optical coherence tomography is based on low-coherence interferometry, typically employing near-infrared light. The use of relatively long wavelength light allows it to penetrate into the scattering medium. Confocal microscopy, another optical technique, typically penetrates less deeply into the sample but with higher resolution. In addition, it tiles (compiles) all the different images and creates a montage image. This Zeiss system has unique ability to scan large format slides that was not found in any other similar systems. This acquisition is being conducted under the authority of the FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i) allowing the Contracting Officer (CO) to solicit from one source. Interested concerns capable of providing the same or similar products or services as described in this notice may submit a capability statement outlining their capabilities. Capability Statements must be received within the time set forth in this synopsis to be considered by the Government. A determination to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. NACIS 334510.
