- NOTICE OF INTENT SOLE SOURCE AWARD Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, CA hereby gives notice of intent to award a sole source contract to: Canon USA, Inc. Professional Engineering & Solutions One Canon Park Melville, NY 11747 This sole source award is under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) - Soliciting from a Single Source. This requirement is for brand name Canon lenses and equipment repairs and preventative maintenance. Canon is the sole manufacturer of Canon products and authorizes territory Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) repairs. Canon USA maintains proprietary rights to the manufactured equipment and no other brand will fit, function, or maintain existing warranties. The current technical equipment (T/E) systems are fielded with genuine Canon professional camera bodies, lenses and flashes. All placement parts and calibrations must meet the same Canon manufacturer standards in or to maximize equipment capabilities. Generic or other brands of replacement parts are not acceptable as they degrade the functionality of the existing system equipment; additionally non-certified technicians will not have authorized access to OEM parts to accurately repair the equipment within existing warranties. A formal solicitation was not developed. Interested firms may submit information that indicates their ability to satisfy this requirement. All responsible sources may submit a response which if timely received, will be considered by the agency.
