- SAVER RFI Tactical Eyewear The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), National Urban Security Technology Laboratory (NUSTL) is seeking information on tactical eyewear products for emergency responders. Selected products will be included in a comparative assessment that will take place in 2018. Products must be either spectacles or goggles, meet or exceed the ANSI Z87.1 standard, have ballistic fragmentation protection above the Z87.1 standard, and have interchangeable lenses. The DHS Authorized Equipment List (AEL) item number that most closely resembles the subject equipment is 01ZA-03-EYEP. The target audience for this information is emergency response personnel, law enforcement officials, public safety providers, and their purchasing agents.
