- Description
- Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract: The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) intends to award a sole source contract to Thermo Electron North America LLC, 1400 Northpoint Pkwy Suite 10, West Palm Beach FL 33407-1976, for maintenance service of Thermo FTIR. Currently, Thermo Electron North America LLC is the manufacturer of the equipment and is the only vendor that can provide this service for the instrument. The Government believes that only Thermo Electron North America LLC is capable of providing this service. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; however any firm that believes it can supply these services may give written notification within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice to the contract specialist via e-mail at ldubroff@cpsc.gov, by 9:00 a.m. Eastern, March 19, 2018. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to the above listed e-mail address, Attn: Llakim Dubroff, contract specialist. No phone calls will be accepted. Responses received will be evaluated, however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, CPSC will proceed with negotiating a sole source award to Thermo Electron North America LLC.
