Description

This is PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE The US Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN, hereinafter referred to as MVAHCS located at One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 621111 with a size standard of $11 million. The VA will award a firm, fixed price, commercial services contract. Contract use will be limited to Minneapolis VA Health Care System only. The solicitation will contain requirements for a 12 month base year contract, with four (4) options to renew. Service will begin July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019 for the base year. The solicitation is scheduled to be issued on or about March 9, 2018 and will be issued via FedBizOpps Electronic Posting System at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS) requires contractual services to provide their medical expertise and services for an Orthopedic Surgeon to function as the Chief, for the Orthopedic Surgery Services at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. The contractor shall provide board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon to provide services as the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery Service. Services are required full-time, 80 hours every two weeks, on-site in accordance with the specifications contained herein for beneficiaries of the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) and the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. The Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS) has one of the busiest Orthopedic Surgery Services in the VA System. The Orthopedic Service performs over 1200 operating room cases per year, and staffs over 12,000 outpatient visits annually. Orthopedics services provided by the MVAHCS include: hand; total joint; ankle and foot; spine; should; muscuoskeletal oncology and sports medicine. The scope of services required by the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery include: staff outpatient clinic; provide inpatient attending; provide consultative services; train and supervise orthopedic surgery residents; and provide on-call coverage.
