- The U.S. Geological Survey, Leetown Science Center(LSC), Conte Anadromous Fish Lab (CAFL) intends to make a non-competitive award to Nortek for the purchase of a single point Vectrino 3D 200 Hz 4 beam right angle Laboratory Acoustic Doppler Velocity meter. Located in 21Drydock Avenue, Boston, MA There are no Option years. The CAFRC (Conte Anadromous Fish Research Center) was built in 1990 and includes the Fish Passage Complex (FPC) and an outside test facility that was added after construction. Hydraulic measurements integral to the scientific mission of the lab are acquired using computer based software and components. Measurements of water flow and velocities are needed to characterize the flow fields in model and prototype structures. These flow fields are used to describe the hydraulics of new and existing fish passage structures. CAFRC has many types of velocity meters; mechanical, magnetic and Acoustic Doppler. A 3D right angle acoustical probe is required to replace two non-functioning non repairable obsolete probes. A new laboratory right angle 3D probe with a scan rate of 200 Hz is required for turbulent velocity data acquisition. Acquisition of this meter increases hydraulic capabilities and will allow CAFRC to complete existing projects and compete for future projects. Nortek is the sole source to provide this equipment sufficient enough to meet the requirements of CAFL. In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by the agency, however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
