- Description
- Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey, intends to issue a limited competition between Aero Specialties, Inc. (Part Number (P/N) 590-P8A; NSN: 4910-01-659-8995) and Columbus Jack Corporation (P/N 9092-016; NSN: 4920-01-604-7416), for a firm fixed-price five (5) year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract for the procurement of a minimum quantity of nine (9) each, and a maximum quantity of sixty-five (65) each Wheel and Brake Dollies, for the P-8A Poseidon Program. This procurement shall provide the United States Navy (USN) and Foreign Military Sales customers the proper Support Equipment to perform aircraft maintenance tasks at the Organizational Level to include removal, installation, and transport of the wheels and brakes on P-8A Poseidon aircraft. Market research was conducted and confirmed that Columbus Jack Corporation and Aero Specialties, Inc. are the only sources that can provide a suitable Wheel and Brake Dolly that meet P-8 minimum requirements. These are the only two Wheel and Brake Dollies approved by the USN that will meet the P-8A aircraft requirements/specifications. The Government does not possess Original Equipment Manufacturer technical data to develop and issue a competitive specification for these Wheel and Brake Dollies. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to full and open competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
