- Question: Can you address the following question? "SEM shall accommodate and fully integrate the following Energy Dispersive X-ray system (EDS): Oxford AZtec with Ultim Max 170 SDD detector and X4 control module" If The Bureau of Engraving and Printing does decide to purchase a new SEM, will the above EDS system be transferred from the old SEM to the new SEM, or will a new EDS system be purchased along with the SEM? Response: BEP's existing SEM has an Oxford AZtec system with xMax 80 detector. The plan is to move and upgrade this system to one with an Ultim Max 170 detector, or Ultim Max 100 depending on total system cost. Any hardware, licenses, and components that can be transferred or exchanged will be used for the upgrade.
