WAGE DETERMINATION CT180024 MOD 0 DATED 01/05/2018, IFB 700Z0G118BPFA01200 REPAIR MAIN ENTRANCE AT CHAPEL USCG ACADEMY NEW LONDON, CT PROJECT #6973018 SOLICITATION AMENDMENT 0003 (3 PAGES) IFB 700Z0G118BPFA01200 REPAIR MAIN ENTRANCE AT CHAPEL USCG ACADEMY NEW LONDON, CT PROJECT #6973018 70Z0G118BPFA01200 ISSUE DATE: 19 DECEMBER 2017 Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, materials, tools, vehicles, supervision, and other items and services required to remove and reinstall the granite stairs, portico granite floor slabs and cheek wall slabs at each end of the stairs to the Chapel north entrance and the removal of the concrete sidewalk and curb between the granite stairs and the driveway and replacement of the sidewalk and curb with new concrete at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Chapel. The project includes removing, cleaning off existing mortar and resetting the granite stairs and cheek wall components in their original locations and removing and resetting the portico granite floor slabs to the finish first floor level for accessible entry to the building. Also included is the removal of the existing metal handrails and provision of new metal handrails. The building will be partially occupied during the project. At least 50% of ingress and egress capacity must be maintained at all times. The project will be phased to allow continuous use of the building. The project includes construction of handicap accessible ramps leading to the portico from the east side of the granite stairs on the upper level and also a walkway leading to the west side door on the lower level. Provision of the accessible ramp to the portico will include removal of existing vegetation, soil and rock/ledge as necessary and to provide a poured in place concrete ramp starting at the sidewalk and extending to the east end of the granite portico. Also construction of a new finished opening through the marble and masonry wall at the east end of the portico and new hand and guardrails at each side of the ramps. A new planting bed and plantings and reseeding of the disturbed soil is included. Provision of the accessible walkway to the lower level entry will include removal of the existing concrete ramp and sidewalk and installation of a poured in place handicap accessible concrete walkway from the lower level exit on the west side of the Chapel to the west to the existing sidewalk and reseeding of all disturbed soil. Work on the lower level entrance shall start after the portico stair and ramp work is complete, accepted and usable. The overall period of performance for the project is 180 days from issuance of Notice to Proceed. The Period of Performance for on-site work is from 24 May 2018 through 16 August 2018. The estimated value of the procurement is between $250,000 and $350,000. Performance and Payment bonds will be required. Solicitation packages will be available on 19 December 2017. The date set for receipt of bids is extended until 23 January 2018 at 2:00 p.m. EST per solicitation amendment 0003 dated 12 January 2018. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238140 -- Masonry Contractors, with a small business size standard of $15 Million. This acquisition is issued pursuant to FAR Part 14 Sealed Bidding and is 100% Set-Aside for Small Business concerns.
