All mortar cartridge shell bodies are made of 1090 Steel. The HE and FRPC are a two piece design, while the 120mm WP Smoke is a one piece shell body. The hot forged steel shell bodies are 120mm in diameter, approximately 16-inches long with a weight of approximately 20lbs. The potential production requirement is for an estimated maximum quantity of up to 625,000 (total) 120mm HE/FRPC/Smoke Shell Bodies. All responding sources shall (at a minimum) provide the following information: a. Production for the HE and FRP Shell bodies will begin no later than (NLT) August 2019. b. A summary of their company's capabilities including organizations name, address, point of contact, phone number, fax number, e-mail address, business size, taxpayer identification number, DUNS number, and CAGE Code. c. A description of facilities/equipment, manufacturing process, inspection capability, personnel, past experience as a shell body producer or a systems contractor, proven monthly production capacity and/or potential capability, possible partnering/teaming arrangements, and whether the company is a small or large business. The respondent should provide sufficient detail to the U.S. Government so as to make a reasonable assessment on the capability to produce these items at the required rates.
