Description
Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD) Synopsis for Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) M26 Rocket Motor Reclamation and Flight Testing. Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD) is tasked with supporting the U.S. Army Program Executive Office (PEO) for Missiles and Space, Precision Fires Rocket and Missile System Project Office (PFRMS PO) and the Department of Defense (DoD) in pursuing a source for the reclamation of the M26 Rocket Motor to support its ongoing Low Cost Reduced Range Practice Rocket (LCRRPR) needs. To accomplish this requirement, expert services and technical support are required for three phases. Phase I includes process demonstration, validation, rocket demilitarization, disassembly, propellant coring and washout, for the basic award. Phase II will include re-graining, refurbishment or replacement of igniter assemblies, and rocket pod assemblies; Phase III will include flight testing. Phases II and III will be included as options. Contractor assistance is required to support the work of the PFRMS PO and NSWC IHEODTD as it proceeds to develop and follow policy, direction and guidance for the MLRS M26 Rocket Motor Reclamation activities. Contract Type: The contemplated award will be an Indefinite Delivery, Definite Quantity (IDDQ) performance-based award on a firm-fixed price (FFP) basis. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Vendors who feel capable of providing the services referenced above shall fully identify their capabilities and provide a response within 10 days after publication of this synopsis. The solicitation number must be in all notice responses.
