- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) intends to award a non-competitive, fixed price contract to NanoString Technologies, Inc., located in Seattle, WA. The USGS Leetown Science Center, based in Kearneysville, WV, has a requirement for a maintenance and service contract for the NanoString nCounter Sprint laboratory instrument. The period of performance is a base year, plus three option years. The NAICS code is 811219; this is not a small business set-aside. NanoString Technologies Inc. is the only known source for a Sprint service contract because the instrument and supporting software are proprietary, as are the support services. SOW attached. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1) Only One Source Reasonably Available. All responsible sources may submit a quotation with capability statement no later than 01/05/2018 which shall be considered by the agency. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. An award will be made on or about 01/31/2018. Pursuant to FAR 5.102 Availability of Solicitations, the justification for other than full and open competition will be made available within 14 days after contract award.
