Page 1 of 4 PRESOLICITATION NOTICE ED Reception Desk Glass Project Code: None The Department of Veterans Affairs, 1201 Broad Rock Blvd, Richmond VA has a requirement for a contractor to provide all labor, material, supplies, equipment, transportation, permits, license and qualified supervision for ED Reception Desk Glass, Building 500 at the Hampton VA Medical Center, Hampton Virginia, 23667. All work performed must meet all applicable codes and regulations and be in strict accordance with the contract drawing and specifications. The period of performance is anticipated to be approximately 30 days from the receipt of the Notice to Proceed for the entire project. Estimated construction magnitude is less than $25,000. NAICS CODE: 236220, with a size standard of $36.5 Million. This is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside. Prospective contractors must be registered in CVE VetBiz in order to be considered. Specifications/drawings will be are attached below. Offers will be due 31 days after issuance of the solicitation. Location and points of contact for site visits will be identified in the solicitation. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not an invitation for bids. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice. No other information is available until issuance of the solicitation. No bidders list is maintained. Contracting Officer Address: Craig Powell, Contracting Officer Network Contracting Office 6 100 Emancipation Drive, Bldg #27 Hampton, VA 23667 Point of Contact(s): Eric McCray, Contract Specialist eric.mccray@va.gov Scope of Work Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center Richmond, Virginia Project Name ED Reception Desk Glass Overview: Contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, materials and supervision as necessary for the construction and installation of a ED reception desk laminated glass located in the emergency room waiting area of Bldg. 500. Work shall be done during a weekend or after business hours to minimize the impact of patient care. This work is to comply with current VA standards for hospital construction and patient care. Specific Description of Work: The project design includes and the following work and must meet or exceed the following: Contractor will provide and install clear anodized storefront in reception area with 3 sliding window glass to be 1/4 clear laminated. Refer to the drawings below for dimensions on installation of the Reception desk glass. The window will be constructed in three parts, utilizing Stylmark s rolling door hardware; Model #610185. This has a stationary and sliding component which locks. Locking mechanism with additional keys for engineering locksmith. Drawings with Dimensions: Period of Performance and Working Schedule: Total Contract: 30 days for contract with window install to be done during a weekend or after business hours. Contractor will coordinate final day and time with VA COR before schedule to do work. Additional notes: Contractor shall field verify all measurements, material quantities, and site conditions prior to submitting a bid.   Contractor is responsible for maintaining building life safety standards prescribed through an Interim Life Safety Measure risk assessment permit requirements issued prior to any work beginning. Contractor is responsible for dust control during demolition and during hauling operations when traversing through the medical center.   Contractor shall comply with Infection Control Risk Assessment permit requirements issued prior to any work beginning. Contractor shall coordinate with COR for waste removal.   All waste shall be removed at the end of each day. Contractor shall remove and dispose of waste in accordance with all legal and VA Specification 01 74  19 Construction Waste Management. All contractors shall complete safety training with Richmond VAMC Safety team prior to work beginning.   Contractor must comply with all requirements of VA Specification 01 35 26 Safety Requirements. Contractor shall store all materials offsite and only bring materials to be installed the same day to the project site.   Contractor shall coordinate delivery, storage, and handling of all materials with the COR to designated prepared areas to minimize site storage time, impact to the hospital, and potential damage to stored materials. Contractor shall protect all existing equipment, utilities, structures, etc. to remain.   When the space is turned over to the contractor, the contractor will be responsible for repairing all damage within the construction site.   If any damage is noticed prior to starting work that may be misconstrued as damage caused by the contractor, the COR shall be notified immediately and the damage documented as existing prior to beginning demolition. Contractor is responsible for removing, storing and reinstalling any wall mounted items.   Contractor shall perform a pre-final inspection before requesting the final inspection with the COR and include time in their work plan for inspections and to repair any defective work after the final inspection has been made. All contractors are required to be safety trained by VA Safety department prior to commencement of work. Contractors are also required to minimally have an OSHA 10 Hour certificate within the last two years.
