- The purpose of this project is to enhance the overall public access to the Big Hill Lake site in Labette County KS with surfacing improvements with a double chip seal. Proposed improvements include pulverization of the existing asphalt roadway to a depth of 4", placement of 3" new aggregate, compaction and a double chip seal for a six mile section from Anderson Rd to Gray Rd. SIGNIFICANT QUANTITIES •Roadway Aggregate: 7,400 TONS •FDR 4" Depth: 81,500 CUYD •Chip Seal, Type 2B: 81,500 SQYD •Emulsified Asphalt: 385 TON It is anticipated that the project will be advertised in December, 2017 with construction beginning in July, 2018 and extending through September 2018. Estimated total cost is $1 million to $3 million.
