- Original RFI November 10, 2016 Market Research Findings Summary for comment Summary Letter for MR Findings The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is finalizing its market research for the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) infrastructure requirements. Over the past year, the FBI has proactively engaged industry to develop a comprehensive understanding of the technical and acquisition landscapes, determine technical capabilities, and assess the feasibility of competition for the LMR infrastructure requirements. Throughout this market research, the FBI has directly engaged with numerous vendors representing small and large business manufacturers and resellers. These engagements have consisted of both oral and written communications aimed at leveraging the subject matter expertise of industry to foster an informed acquisition strategy. Specifically, the FBI has: • Posted a Request for Information (RFI) to FedBizOpps (FBO) to gauge industry capabilities (RFI_FBI_LMR_11102016); • Engaged in various written exchanges with respondents to clarify submittal data; and • Conducted in-person industry one-on-one sessions with interested vendors to further discuss their technical solutions. The purpose of this communication is to summarize the FBI's market research findings and provide the vendor community with an opportunity to comment on the findings before the FBI concludes its market research. Responses are limited to 5 pages and shall be emailed to my attention at ajstickley@fbi.gov no later than 11:59 AM EST on January 22, 2018.
