- SAVE THE DATE: Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) will be hosting an UNCLASSIFIED level Quantum Information Sciences Workshop on 13-14 February 2018 at the Cyber Innovation Center (CIC) in Bossier City, Louisiana. The goal of this workshop is to baseline government, industry, academia, DoD FFRDCs/UARCs, national laboratories, and other partners on the technological and operational challenges within the nuclear deterrence, global strike, and the National Leadership Command Capability/Nuclear Command and Control Communications (NLCC/NC3) mission areas. Multiple government organizations will discuss their challenges during the 13 February portion of this workshop. Specifically, challenges will be described where breakthroughs in quantum information sciences could have the potential of providing game-changing solutions, such as in resilient communications, sensing, encryption, positioning/navigation/timing (PNT), and computing. In turn, quantum researchers from government, academia, industry, national laboratories, DoD FFRDCs/UARCs will describe, in practical terms, to operators/warfighters/requirements developers the impact/significance of successful outcomes of their research on these challenges.
