Description
This action was awarded as an 8(a) Sole Source Set-Aside under the authority of section 8(a) of the Small Business Act. The pavement at Strahan Rd./Canutillo Lateral crossing has been partially removed to provide a steel casing pipe sleeve to be inserted beneath the roadway and the lateral in the previous Strahan Rd. Water Transmission Main Contract. The existing pavement has deteriorated to the point that has become a traffic hazard for motorists. It is estimated that approximately 268 LF of roadway will need to be removed and repaved until the next phase of the Watermain can be installed later in 2018. The contractor will be responsible for Sawcutting the existing pavement at the new pavement matchline and Demolition and removal of the existing pavement and basecourse. The Contractor will also be responsible for installing new basecourse, prime coat and pavement per the "NEW PAVEMENT SECTION DETAIL A" per the attached "STANDARD CIVIL DETAILS 5" Sheet CZ-5. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all Federal, State, City and County permits necessary to perform the work as stated in this contract. The Contractor will be responsible for providing a traffic control plan to the City and or the County of El Paso and the Contracting Officer Representative or USACE Point of Contact (POC) for approval. The Contractor shall not start any demolition or paving related work until the traffic control plan is reviewed and approved by all necessary parties. The contractor shall provide all detours, barricades and traffic control measures per the approved traffic control plan. In accordance with this Scope of Work the Contractor shall supply all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, and any other items necessary to complete the pavement repairs at Strahan Rd./Canutillo Lateral Crossing.
