Description
Description: The Naval Air Systems Command, Precision Strike Weapons (PMA-201) intends to host an industry day to conduct market research. Proposals are not being requested or accepted in relation to this notice. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. The purpose of this industry day is to explore and investigate current industry concepts for a moving target training device that will provide aircrew operational proficiency training at a cost savings compared to current inventory dual-mode Global Positioning System (GPS) aided Inertial Navigation System (INS) /Laser weapons. The Government is interested in industry presentations to include the following areas: Performance and capabilities, Employment concept, Mission planning compatibility with Precision Guided Munitions Planning Software (PGMPS), Targeting and operational considerations, Pros and Cons and trade space with respect to desired attributes, Potential for growth and or modularity, Impact of design alternatives on F/A-18 E/F aircraft integration, Assessment of risk and technology/manufacturing readiness levels, Tooling, test equipment, production strategy, Reliability, maintainability, supportability, testing and verification requirements, Modeling and Simulation capability to refine system performance and limitations, and Total Life Cycle costs and considerations. Presentations should also include a timeline for development and manufacturing of the presented capability. The Industry Day will be held January 10 - 11, 2018 at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center (SMHEC), 44219 Airport Road, California, MD 20619. The Government will provide an introductory presentation highlighting the current PGM training inventory at the UNCLASS level and the purpose for this market research. Following the Government introduction, the Government will host one-on-one breakout sessions with each attendee. Each session will have an approximate duration of one and one half hours. These sessions are not intended to assess the attendee's qualifications. The specific purpose of these sessions is to allow industry participants to provide inputs and recommendations regarding the topics listed above. While not required, the Government welcomes information in the form of technical data sheets, conceptual drawings and concept of training operations. The Government appreciates copies of the presentation materials, but please ensure that all information provided to the Government is marked with the appropriate legend(s), if applicable. A notional schedule for the two days will be as follows: 10 January 2018 8-9 Arrival and Registration 9-10:30 Welcome and presentation by PMA 201 11-12:30 one-on-one session #1 12:30-1:30 break for lunch (lunch will not be provided) 1:45-3:15 one-on-one session #2 3:30-4:45 one-on-one session #3 11 January 2018 8-9:30 one-on-one session #4 9:45-11:15 one-on-one session #5 11:30-12:30 break for lunch (lunch will not be provided) 12:45 - 2:15 one-on-one session #6 2:30 - 4:00 one-on-one session #7 4:15-5:30 one-on-one session #8 Please submit the below information to Mischelle Mattingly at Mischelle.Mattingly.ctr@navy.mil and Quinn Wenger at quinn.wenger@navy.mil no later than 5:00 EST Friday 5 January 2018 if you intend to attend the Industry Day. The Government will notify each attendee of its assigned timeslot after receiving the registration information. The U.S. Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse any companies or entities that respond to this announcement. Any costs incurred by interested companies in response to this announcement or incurred for participation in the Industry Day will NOT be reimbursed. All information marked as proprietary information will be safeguarded to prevent disclosure to non-Government personnel and entities.
