- Description
- The Bureau of Reclamation, Hoover Dam has a requirement for bridge abutment repair and slope protection. The work is located along Lower Portal Road Bridge at Hoover Dam. Hoover Dam is located approximately 8 miles east of Boulder City, Nevada on SR 172. The contractor shall supply labor, materials, supervision, and equipment to: 1. Clear Vegetation to extent of new construction. 2. Excavate, grade and compact foundation. The foundation shall be compacted to 90 percent of max density. 3. Place concrete trenches on both sides of the abutment and slope paving along the front of the abutment. Place concrete and reinforcement in accordance with the attached drawing. The reinforcement shall be Grade 60 Steel in accordance with ASTM A615. The concrete strength shall be f'c=4500 psi. 4. The contractor shall hire an independent test lab to collect and test one set of compressive strength test cylinders for each day of concrete pouring and one set of compaction tests. This solicitation is set-aside for Small Business concerns. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 237310, Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction, which has a small business size standard of $36.5 Million. This acquisition will be pursued in accordance with FAR Part 14, Sealed Bidding. Award is expected by February 2018. The Government intends to award one (1) firm-fixed-price (FFP) contract as a result of this solicitation, with a required period of performance totaling approximately 45 calendar days after the successful Contractor receives notice to proceed. The estimated price range of the construction project is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Offerors are required to have a current registration on the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for contract award. Offerors may register on SAM at https://www.sam.gov/. A pre-proposal site visit will be scheduled for all interested parties. Site visit information (e.g. date, time, location) will be provided with the solicitation. It is anticipated that the solicitation, in the form of an Invitation for Bids (IFB), will be issued on or about January 5, 2018. No documents will be available until the solicitation is issued. The solicitation will only be issued electronically via www.FBO.gov. All parties are responsible for checking the FBO website to ensure that they have the most current information. All dates in this announcement are estimates and are subject to change. The solicitation, once issued, will contain instructions for submitting questions. No questions regarding this acquisition will be accepted or addressed/answered prior to the formal solicitation issuance.
