- Walter Reed National Military Medical Center has a requirement to procure an upgraded Vocera communication system. The Government intends to procure this system on a sole source basis from Government Marketing & Procurement, LLC because preliminary market research indicates that Government Marketing & Procurement, LLC, is the only GSA authorized distributor of these items and only it can meet the Government's requirements because the upgraded items must interface and operate with the equipment currently in use in the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE). Also, Vocera is the only communication system that is DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation DIACAP approved. Lastly, the system will be FIPS 140-2 Certified to operate in the VA wireless network. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations and a solicitation for this requirement will not be issued. Prospective offerors are advised that, because there are no other known sources, the agency has authorized the procurement of this item under than full and open competition under FAR 6.3. However, interested responsible sources may submit capability statement for the agency's consideration in determining whether a competitive procurement should be conducted in the future for this item. A copy of the Justification and Approval will be posted no later than 14 days after contract award.
