- Description
- In accordance with FAR 13.106(b), the contracting officer herby determines that the order must be issued on a sole-source basis in the interest of economy and the government to rent a mobile dishwahser due to Life, Safety, and Health Urgency). This determination based on the need to have santitized dish for patients and customers in order to prepare food and drink at least 3 times daily. The current installed dishwash stopped working and cannot be operational for at least 30 to 60 days due to part lead time and other findings due to the malufactuion. The hospital is using their resources to fix the dishwasher and room back to standard, meanwhile it is not feasible for the government to buy a new dishwasher and have it installed versus renting a mobile dishwahser for 60 days. Without the lease of the mobile dishwasher, the food mission on the hospital would be critically damaged. The use of paper items will maintain the mission until the dishwasher is operational but is too costly to continue for a period of 60 days.
