- Sole Source Justification (Redacted) The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract directly to King's Daughters' School of Columbia, TN for special education services for a student enrolled at Mahaffey Middle School (MMS) who needs a highly structured residential environment that addresses his comprehensive Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals as recommended by MMS Special Education Case Study Committee (CSC). The student's IEP was developed and implemented with the active participation of all CSC members-including the student's parents. Services must be provided by a school/unit licensed by a state Department of Education as required by the state in which the facility is located. The period of performance is one 12-month base period followed by up to four 12-month option periods. This requirement is being solicited in accordance with commercial item and simplified acquisition procedures under FAR part 12 and subpart 13.5. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This is not an RFQ. This is a written notice to inform the public of the Government's intent to award on a sole source basis for the required materials.
