Brand Name/Sole Source Justification The following information is provided in accordance with FAR 12.603(c)(2): (i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation number is HQ014717R0040. The solicitation is issued as a request for proposal (RFP). (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-95. Refurbished spare parts are not authorized due to the need to maximize reliability at the remote site, and due to the harsh sea salt environment at the remote site which may degrade refurbished parts more quickly than new parts. Only the Hyster brand name will meet the Government's requirements. A Brand Name/Sole Source Justification is attached to this announcement. (vii) Required date of delivery for all items is 22 weeks after contract award, or sooner if possible.
