- NOTICE OF INTENT The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 7, intends to award a sole-source contract to Biotronik, Inc. 6024 Jean Road, Lake Oswego, OR 97035 to provide Zero-Gravity Radiation Shield Equipment to the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Biotronik, Inc. is an authorized dealer for Zero-Gravity. Contractor is to provide Zero-Gravity Shield Equipment to the Atlanta Medical Center. Fluoroscopically guided procedures in the electrophysiology room, such as radiofrequency catheter ablation and implantation of cardiac resynchronization devices, results in high radiation exposure of electrophysiologists and assisting staff. Lead shields and shielding is required to reduce radiation exposures. Portable shields reduce the rate of on the job injuries caused by wearing heavy lead vests. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation for offers. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product to Demetrius Kittrell, Contract Specialist, at Demetrius.Kittrell@va.gov by August 18, 2017, no later than Noon EST. All capability statements received by closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334510 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 Employees. This is for informational purposes only and not to be construed as a commitment by the government. Any information submitted to this notice of intent is voluntary. 334510 Electrometrical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing This industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in operating studios and facilities for the broadcasting of programs on a subscription or fee basis. The broadcast programming is typically narrowcast in nature (e.g., limited format, such as news, sports, education, or youth-oriented).
