- Plans Specifications Solicitation *** The solicitation related to the below pre-solicitation notice is now posted. All information in the solicitation supersedes information in the pre-solicitation notice. *** The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a set aside solicitation for certified small business contractors for the construction of the Herring Run Repairs project, located at the Herring Run structure, Cape Cod Canal, Bourne, MA. The NAICS code for the work described below is 238110. The project is planned to be issued in August 2017, and will be set aside for Small Businesses. The construction period will extend until Fall 2018 due to environmental limitations as this is an active fishway. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $300,000. Any responsible source meeting this standard may submit a bid to be considered by the New England District. The location of work to be performed under this contract is the Herring Run, located at the Cape Cod Canal, Bourne, Massachusetts. This project consists of the following components: • Remove and replace chain link fencing along fishway. • Repair concrete and joints in isolated places along fishway. • Install new stainless steel baffle channels onto the existing concrete adjacent to the existing concrete baffle slots. • Repair concrete flume walls, outlet walls, and void in the ceiling of the outlet conduit. Some of this work is influenced by tides, so work must be carefully scheduled. • Replacement of wooden baffles. • Installation of riprap within the lower channel. This work must be accomplished during low tide. Please note this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses. This is not a request for proposals at this time; the solicitation requirements and contract documents to include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about August 2017. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation offerors must access the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov).
