The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting a Market Survey/Request for Information to improve the Government's understanding of the current marketplace and to identify capable sources. Responses to this market survey will be used to determine there is adequate competition to set this requirement aside for Socially and Economically Disadvantaged SEDB 8(a)'s, small businesses, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), etc. This survey is being conducted in accordance with FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Section 3.2.1.2.1. The purpose of this market survey is to seek competent and qualified contractors to perform all work necessary to remove and replace the roof on the childcare facility located onsite. This survey will support market research obtained from multiple sources and will be utilized for planning purposes only. No contract of any kind will result from this announcement. _____________________________________________________________ Summary of the work: 1) Removal of existing roofing system down to decking. 2) Install 80 mil TPO membrane roofing system and roof accessories. 3) Any required field fabrication work (sheet metal flashing, carpentry, etc.) that will allow for roofing to be installed to correct slopes and conditions. 4) Installation of portable guardrail system along the entire perimeter edges of the roof. 5) Removal and re-installation of a self-close safety gate and associated grab bars and railings, as necessary. 6) Installation of TPO walkways where specified. 7) Complete water-tight installation including penetrations and flashings by other trades. 8) Trimming of adjacent trees which are encroaching into the build/roof space. 9) Removal and re-installation of lightning/grounding system and installation of new equipment to replace noncompliant aluminum components. ______________________________________________________________ NAICS CODE FOR THIS PROJECT IS 238160 - ROOFING CONTRACTORS, WITH A SMALL BUSINESS SIZE STANDARD OF $15.0 MILLION. ______________________________________________________________ ESTIMATED DOLLAR VALUE OF PROJECT: BETWEEN $200,000 AND $300,000. ______________________________________________________________ To qualify for this project, the contractor will have to have experience with multiple projects similar in size and scope to this project and a positive past performance history.
