TITLE: 65-- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD AS A SOLE SOURCE TO SMALL BUSINESS PROCUREMENT: OPEN MARKET SOL: VA242-17-Q-0375-1 DUE: 07-07-2017, 10 AM EST SET ASIDE: NONE NAICS: 339112 POP STATE: United States AGENCY: Department of Veterans Affairs VA Manhattan Campus; Attn: Cardiology/Cardio-Med 423 East 23rd Street, New York, New York 10010-5011 POC: Shari Lee; shari.lee@va.gov DESCRIPTION: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD AS A SOLE-SOURCE VENDOR to Spectranetics Corporation for a Laser extraction device for Cardiac surgery. Department of Veterans Affairs Contracting Office 2 (NCO 2) intends to award on a sole source basis with Spectranetics, Inc. (DUNS: 151047370), pursuant to FAR Subpart 13.5 and FAR 13.106-1(b)(2). The proposed future contract will be for The Spectranetics excimer laser extraction device. This is the only disposable device that is used in the removal of imbedded pacemaker leads and the treatment of peripheral and coronary arterial disease, which are needed by Cardiac Doctors within Manhattan VA Medical Center to perform Cardiac Surgeries. These disposables extraction leads will be used by the surgeons at the NY Campus for the removal of imbedded pace maker and ICD leads in the cardiac muscle. Market research was conducted and determined that Spectranetics Corporation is the only vendor capable of providing service necessary that meets the requirements. St. Jude also provided a sole-source proprietary letter stating that these particular patches can only be purchased from St. Jude Medical. This Notice of Intent is not a request for Proposals or Quotations. No solicitation document exists and no telephone or email inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of proposals, or quotations received in response to this notice. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide supplies/services sought including pricing data and technical data sufficient enough to determine that a comparable source to the government is available. The government may consider all Expressions of Interest received prior to July 07, 2017, 10 AM EST. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
