- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, Charleston, SC intends to negotiate a commercial (GSAM Part 570) Sole Source lease under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The VA intends to award a Lease to BEI Beach, LLC at their facility (The Market Common) in Myrtle Beach, SC for a minimum of 18,208 usable square feet of space to a maximum of 20,939 usable square feet of space. This action procures a minimum of 7,077 NUSF to a maximum of 8,439 NUSF of medical space. Current tenant organization Myrtle Beach Mental Health Facility occupies approximately 12,500 NUSF and requires a new lease of 20,939 NUSF to account for increased patient care requirements. Movement to an alternate site for the provision of that limited increase is cost prohibitive. Staying in place saves Federal dollars until the new lease is established for the Myrtle Beach Community Based Outpatient Clinic that will be opening 2020-2021. Accordingly, The Market Common/BEI Beach, LLC is the only firm capable of providing the supplies and services described above without the Veteran s Health Administration experiencing substantial duplication of cost that could not be expected to be recovered through competition and unacceptable delays in fulfilling its requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition is prepared in support of this acquisition. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Applicable NAICS code is 531120.
