- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE - THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE AWARD TO HEINEMANN PUBLISHING The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) intends to issue a sole source award to Heinemann Publishing. This award will provide curriculum materials for a reading assessment program for grades kindergarten through three for a newly opening DoDEA elementary school and to replenish stock at other schools. These reading assessment materials must align with primary adopted curriculum materials and are the only materials approved for use. The resources required are Benchmark Assessment System Kit 1, 2nd Edition and Benchmark Assessment System Kit 2, 2nd Edition. Heinemann Publishing is the sole publisher of these materials and the only source available to provide the course materials. These are the only materials approved for use until a new curriculum decision is made. The contract to replace these materials is anticipated to be competed in the FY 2018. This action is necessary in order to ensure the appropriate curriculum materials are available to students when the new school opens in August 2017 and to replenish the materials at other schools whose population has changed. This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to this notice no later than 10:00 a.m. ET, Friday, June 30, 2017 by email to robin.castoldi@eu.dodea.edu. All information submitted should support the offeror's capability to provide the items required, and shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to cancel the sole source award. The primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 511130 (Book Publishers). The size standard is 500 employees.
