Description

NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center San Diego intends award in accordance with FAR Part 12, a firm-fixed price service contract, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(b)(1); Only one responsible source for MPS-10m/S HF Whip 8kw 2-30mhz AIRCOOL Antenna; and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements: Antenna Products Corp, located at: 101 SE 25th Ave, Mineral Wells, TX 76067 is the only company that manufactures this whip antenna. It has specific tuning and calibration requirements (required by the Navy) in order for the element in the whip and the frequency matching network to function properly. If the antenna is not tuned and calibrated correctly transmitting with the antenna could cause an unsafe condition. The MPS-10m/S HF Whip 8kw 2-30 MHz AIRCOOL Antenna is used for transmission of mission critical information via various different voice and data circuits. The end user ™s (NCTSCU OKC) mission has been affected due to the casualty and an immediately replacement is required. The applicable NAICS code is 517919. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No formal solicitation package is available. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in responding to this notice; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements and past performance data no later than 08:00am Pacific Standard Time on 30 JUN 2017. All interested parties must demonstrate an ability to provide the exact item as described in the Sole Source. Any additional documentation will be submitted to Charles E. Bruce, Purchasing Agent, via email at charles.e.bruce@navy.mil. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open basis is solely within the discretion of the Government.
