Description
This Request for Information (RFI) is solely for informational market research, in order to determine the availability of potential sources who can provide the following. USGS OAG Sacramento, CA, is seeking sources that can provide a 3-D Laser Scanner with the following specification. The form factor must be such that the unit can be integrated into our existing mobile platform (a Dodge Ram 2500 pickup that has a bed tail mounted rack on which the Laser sits) that already houses the Inertial Motion Unit (IMU), a device that measures the attitude of the moving platform (the truck, in this case) and allows us to remove the motion of the truck from the Laser data. In this case the height must be ~30cms and width less than ~25cm, with total weight less than 10 lbs. The scanner must have a maximum range of over 1300m, a range uncertainty better than 1cm, 16 bit recording of intensity and better than 18mm spot size at 50 meters. Also the scanner must have measurement rates of over 120kHz and vertical field of view greater than 90 degrees. Riegl USA Inc., Orlando Florida model VZ-1000 3-D Laser Scanner is known to meet these requirements. The intent of this notice is to determine if any other source(s) exist. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the Government. Responses must include (1) Organization name, address, email address, and size and type of ownership, and (2) Complete description of equipment capabilities and contain sufficient technical information to allow agency analysis to establish bona fide capabilities. This is not a request for quotation, and the Government does not intend to pay for information received. All questions and submissions in response to this notice must be submitted electronically via email to Nik Lushenko, nlushenko@usgs.gov by 1700 ET on July 3, 2017. Capability statements shall only be accepted through electronic mail addressed to nlushenko@usgs.gov. All statement documents required by this notice must be uploaded and received in their entirety no later than July 3, 2017 at 1700 ET. Statements submitted by hardcopy or the Fed Connect web portal or Fed Connect Message Center shall not be accepted or considered.
