- This notice and solicitation is being re-posted in its entirety. Previously the notice for this solicitation was posted at HE1254-17-R-3003. The solicitation number was changed due to assignment by the organization of new sequence procurement numbers. The new solicitation number is HE1254-17-T-2020. The solicitation is being posted in two areas: The previous reference (HE1254-17-R-3003) where the notice was posted and this posting area reflecting the new number: HE1254-17-T-2020. SEE NOTICE DETAILS BELOW FROM ORIGINAL NOTICE POSTED ON 23 APRIL 2017. This is not a request for proposals. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. This is strictly a synopsis to inform industry about an upcoming requirement. The Government will not accept any proposals based on this notice. The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for School Bus Driver Services for students and other authorized individuals attending the Sasebo, Japan schools located within the DoDEA East District. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, supervision, scheduling, quality control, licensing, training and other items and services necessary to perform the bus driver duties and services to include driver services for daily commute, special needs, special needs extended school year, curricular school trips, co-curricular trips and Far East activities on designated DoDEA East District buses operating in support of the Sasebo, Japan schools and community. Projected ordering period for services is 1 August 2017 - 31 July 2018 with four one-year optional periods. This acquisition will be solicited as a full and open competitive procurement using the procedures in FAR Part 12 - Commercial Items and FAR Part 13.5 - Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items.
