Description
This is a Request for Information/Sources Sought notice to solicit comments, questions and feedback from industry regarding a planned procurement of a single polychromatic measurement system identified below. NAWCAD Lakehurst is requesting vendor sources with the capability of supplying said system. Interested parties may submit technical literature/brochures on solutions that meet these material requirements. Any relevant information may also be submitted for consideration to aid in refinement of this requirement. THIS RFI IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool being used to determine potential and eligible vendors capable of providing a system described herein prior to determining the method of acquisition. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this notice. DESCRIPTION A non-contact white light/polychromatic measurement system is required to measure Recovery Assist, Securing and Traversing (RAST) System Steel Track Slot width (horizontal distance) to a range of approx. 1 -9/16 to 2-1/3 inches at the slots (one inch thick) vertical midpoint. The precision system is to include associated controller, sensor(s) (connected to a controller), and power supply. The system may utilize a single sensor (2-sided light emissions 180˚ opposed) or two sensors able to be side by side mounted (180 ˚ opposed) within a 1.5 inch lateral space. The system is to be capable of measuring the distance between the steel track slot faces of from 1.5625 inch to a 2.33 inch track slot width and be robust enough to withstand repeated use in an outdoor environment. The carriage that will contain the sensors will be designed and manufactured by NAWCADLKE. ELEGIBILITY The PSC for this effort is 5220; The NAICS is 332216. All interested businesses are encouraged to respond. All interested parties must submit written responses, preferably via electronic mail. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Navy regulations. Responses to this RFI will not be returned. Respondents will not be notified of the result of the review. Failure to respond to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future associated RFP/RFQ that may be issued.
