- Pre-Solicitation Notice Description of Project 578-17-021: Prepare Site for Kitchen Trailer: the contractor shall prepare a portion of Scott Drive adjacent to Building 45 to accommodate a modular kitchen trailer. This project will require coordination with the trailer contractor and VA Nutrition and Food Services Department. The general objectives for this project is to provide site preparation in advance of the modular kitchen trailer including stub out new sewer connections to the existing sewer service, build additional sidewalks and concrete pads, provide electrical, natural gas, water, telecommunications, and fire alarm to the exterior of Building 45. After the modular trailer is placed, the contractor shall build a security fence, limit traffic on Scott Drive, connect sewer, electrical, natural gas, water, telecommunications, and fire alarm to the modular trailer, construct a loading dock and stairs with canopy on the west side of the modular trailer, and construct an access ramp with canopy. Location of the Work: this project is located at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital, 5000 South 5th Avenue, Hines, IL 60141. Tentative Dates/Timelines: IFB Solicitation Posting via FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov): 06/30/2017 Bid Opening: 08/01/2017 Period of Performance: 125 Calendar Days after the Notice to Proceed is issued Solicitation Information: solicitation VA69D-17-B-1249 will be issued as a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside pursuant to Public Law 109-461. In order to be considered for award, the contractor shall be CVE-Verified as an SDVOSB in https://www.vip.vetbiz.gov by the date and time specified for receipt of bids. No other sources will be considered. Additionally, all interested parties submitting a bid must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database (https://www.sam.gov) at time of bid submission.
