- The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division, on behalf of the U.S. Army Medical Command G 3/5/7, Dental Directorate intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract for the acquisition of Dentsply Sirona CEREC Sustainment. This contract will be awarded under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) only one source is reasonably available that will satisfy Agency requirements The contract will be established for a one (1) year base period with one (1) one year option period. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Sirona Dental, Inc. operating as a Large Business located in Long Island City, NY. The Government requires Dentsply Sirona CEREC Sustainment for all Sirona CEREC computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) dental equipment owned by the U.S. Army. The CEREC CAD/DAM equipment is operated by dental activities within the contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside the contiguous United States (OCONUS). Dentsply Sirona CEREC Sustainment provides extended equipment warranty, software updates, training and portal support, all of which are necessary for the generation and movement of 3D dental scans required to mill dental restorations. Sirona Dental, Inc is the only source that can provide this support to the Government to meet the requirement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339114 and the Small Business Size Standard is 750 employees. This is not a Small Business Set-Aside. The Government anticipates awarding one (1) contract award. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. This notice is posted for ten (10) business days. No solicitation package will be available. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received by 3:00 pm EST, June 26, 2017, the contract will be issued without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this contract is based on this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government.
