- This Special Notice is not a Request for Project Proposals and/or Task Request, but for planning and informational purposes only. A project award will not be awarded from this announcement. The Government intends to issue a Request for Information (RFI) in support of a Ground Vehicle technology objective area. The purpose of this announcement is to provide members of the National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC), and industry in general, advanced notification of Government intent. The M113 Upgrade RFI will be issued to members of the NAMC to determine existing industry capability in order to provide survivability/force protection and associated mobility and reliability upgrades for the M113 system. The Government is primarily focused on determining if suitable commercial items currently exist to meet potential Government requirements. The RFI is being conducted through the Section 815 Other Transaction Agreement that the Government has with the NAMC to accelerate the advancement of prototype robotics and ground vehicle technology, including requests such as this. The RFI will be issued to the NAMC's Administrative Agent, the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS), who will then issue the request to the Consortium.
