Description
Rock Creek Aspen Fuels Project 2017 IN APPROXIMATELY 1 DAY, THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS COMMERCIAL SERVICE PROJECT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO VIEW AND PRINT. SCOPE OF WORK The purpose of this contract is to prepare treatment units for prescribed fire. Cutting live and dead conifer trees will generate sufficient fuel loading in order to accomplish prescribed fire objectives. Conifer encroachment in aspen, especially subalpine fir, reduces aspen stand health and vigor. Fuel loading across the unit should approximate 20 tons/acre on average and especially near remaining live subalpine fir. Small stands of pure lodgepole pine may be left uncut and free of excess fuel loading to create a mosaic burn and provide diversity within the stand. Aspen, ponderosa pine, and Douglas-fir will not be cut (where they exist) to encourage both biodiversity and fire-adapted species. Snags near unit boundaries will be cut to aid in holding operations during burning, while large diameter snags within the unit should be left. No excess fuels should be scattered near these large snags in order to possibly retain them during burn operations. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government furnished), and incidentals to perform all work necessary on the areas specified. LOCATION The project is located approximately 27 miles south of Hansen, Idaho on the Cassia Division of the Minidoka District of the Sawtooth National Forest. The area can be accessed by turning south on to Rock Creek Road (N 3800 E) from Highway 30 in Hansen (follow signs towards Rock Creek Guard Station). The proposed treatment area includes portions of the following: T14S, R19E, Section 6, T14S R18E, Sections 25 and 36, and T15S R19E Section 6. Refer to Maps provided in Exhibit 1. CONTACT STEVE CLEZIE FOR MORE INFORMATION (208) 737-3256. CONTRACT TIME WILL BE from July 15, 2017 for 17 calendar days. NAICS Code: 115310 Size Standard: $19.5. This proposed procurement is a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS set-aside.
